Casa Bernard – Grand Entrance

Bienvenidos a Casa Bernard, un palacete del siglo XVI que acaba de ser devuelto a su antiguo esplendor tras su última restauración. No se trata de un museo, sino de nuestra casa familiar, en la que se combinan magníficos elementos arquitectónicos con una rica evolución histórica, comenzando en la atalaya medieval erigida sobre cimientos romanos, pasando a la doble fachada del palacete que data del siglo XVI , a la cual posteriormente se le añadieron detalles barrocos.

La visita guiada les llevará a través de un zaguán con bóveda de cañón, la capilla, el comedor, tres salones, la biblioteca y la alcoba principal; su guía les señalará el mobiliario, los cuadros y las obras de arte que, hasta hace poco, no estaban expuestos al público. La visita finaliza con un paseo por el patio interior y el jardín.

Den un paso hacia el pasado y experimenten cómo vivían las familias nobles maltesas de antaño, junto con todas las costumbres y tradiciones del estilo de vida aristocrático local.

Functions & Services

This unique palazzino offers a variety of services for hosting your private, leisure or corporate organizations.

Functions and events at Casa Bernard may include Seminars, Board Meetings, Executive Gatherings, Incentive Travel Events amongst others, and may optionally include refreshments which can be served before, after, or during a pause. Unfortunately  Wedding  Functions cannot possibly be accepted.

Also available are pre-lunch or pre-dinner drinks and canapes or Maltese specialities , before proceeding to a meal in a restaurant in Rabat or Mdina. Alternatively, a lunch or dinner can be organized here either with home cooking supplied by the Casa, or prepared by Caterers.

Situated just outside the splendid medieval city of Mdina,in its suburb, Rabat, Casa Bernard is a charming late 16th Century Palazzino which has just been restored to its pristine splendour and is now open to visitors who can enjoy a cultural experience of seeing how a Maltese house used to look through the ages and how it used to function , and still does in this day and age.

Attractions And Features

For this is not a museum but a family home, still lived in today, after 3 years of careful and dedicated restoration by expert craftsmen.
